Montenegro
1969
Montenegro's comics tradition is small and closely tied to the wider Yugoslav scene.
Andrija Maurović, often called the father of Croatian and Yugoslav comics, was born in Muo near Kotor in 1901, and Lazo Sredanović from Nikšić drew Dikan for Politikin Zabavnik from 1969. Since the 1990s, newspaper cartoonists such as Goran Šćekić and a comics club founded in Kotor in 2001, which became the Association of Comics Authors of Montenegro in 2005, have built a local scene.
